Since we are chatting already anyway I guess I can give you an update. Crawlspace is tied with the permanent roof for the best money we've spent on the house. Since you guys were in to install, we've kept a thermo/humidistat down there and it hasn't moved from 55-60% since - even on the most humid and wet days in the summer.
We recently had the electrician put lighting down there and plan to add a hatch for access from the inside. We were able to close down our rented storage unit and have everything neatly (mostly) organized in rows underneath.
Upstairs, we've noticed a huge difference in air quality. No more musty/dank smell. Also, seeing the weird moisture bugs is rare now when they were infesting the place before.
In hindsight I would probably go with the more expensive crawlspace door option, but that won't be an issue once we install the hatch.
