Smart Jack Transformation- Beaver Bank, NS
Challenge
This home in Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia had a crawlspace that was visibly failing beneath the homeowners' feet. The crawlspace of the home has no sidewalls on the back of the crawlspace, allowing moisture, rain, snow, and humidity into the crawlspace, affecting the wooden supports. The supports were rotting, and the ceiling was caving in. The homeowner was very concerned, as he did not think the home would stand another winter with the support beams that were currently holding up the home. The homeowner reached out to the experts at Ridgeback Basement Systems for a solution that would result in maximum support without breaking the bank.
Solution
Our system design specialist, Jake was called out to the home, and immediately noticed the rotting/failing supports. With the sidewalls of the crawlspace exposed, installing new wooden supports would result in the same issue, a few years down the road. Jake suggested installing our Smart Jack system, which is a unique system that it's made with strong, corrosion-resistant, galvanized steel. The homeowner does not have to worry about the system rotting and failing in the future and it can withstand the weather that this crawlspace endures.
With the install of 16 Smart Jacks and a support beam, the home is not in jeopardy of failing, as it has strong, stable supports that can weather the load and Nova Scotia seasons.
