Crawlspace Repair- Lower Five Island, NS

Challenge

This home was purchased a few months ago by a couple who bought the house unseen. They were excited they moved in and quickly realized there was a portion of the home they did not realize needed work. The floors were sagging and when going to inspect the crawlspace they realized the ground floor was exposed. This caused a musty smell within their home as there was organic material forming under their home. They were in need of assistance as it was affecting their overall comfort in the home. Not to mention the supports in the crawlspace were vey spaced out, causing the floors to sag. The homeowners did their research regarding their concerns and contacted the experts at Ridgeback Basement Systems for help. 

Solution

Our sales specialist Gerard MacKinnon completed an inspection on the crawlspace and spoke with the homeowners with regards to a solution. To address the ground floor exposure, CleanSpace was suggested for creating a barrier between the ground floor and the home. By doing this, it saves the integrity of the home, as moisture is not directly on the wooden support pilers. For the support issues, SmartJacks were advised to add extra support under the home. With the installation of these products the homeowners can now enjoy their new home without the challenges they were recently facing.
